Hey folks-

We arrived down in the lower Yellowfin tuna grounds about 9 am. The water jumped from a greenish 65 degrees to a Cobalt Blue and 67.5 in less than a mile. We knew we were in the ball park but the boats yesterday had a little bit warmer water- after tacking around a little bit, it was obvious the current was pushing strong to the west so we stared heading that way. Small tuna were hitting the jugs rather steady so we pulled the jigs in as not to waste time on single fish stops and hold out for a school.

As we continued South West, the water temp did a sudden half degree jump up and two minutes after it did, we heard them on the sonar. A very impressive school, first only audible on the sonar then as we got closer it showed itself on the screen. The school let us get right on top of it and reacted instantly to the sardines and anchovies. The corner was literally brown with fish eating any size line, any bait dead or alive, or lure we threw and it kept on biting. By far the best biting school this year and we easily picked up limits.

The Rice Bowl crew put on massive amounts of fresh Sashimi today!

We are making a move to the Northwest to look for some of the big Yellowtail that have been in kelps and for a few trophy sized tuna.

Wish us continued luck and tight lines!

If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 226-8030 to get in on the action.
