http://www.royalpolaris.comHello everyone; The weather is on the up swing, and so is the fishing. Our morning was a bit slow, but after lunch, things went from slow to a good steady pick. We ended up with a good day, with Bluefin making up most of the catch. We were just short of our daily limits. Most of the Bluefin were in the 15 to 20 pound range, with 3 stand outs, up to 80 pounds.
Two of the larger Bluefin were caught on the kite, with one coming on fly-line Mackerel. We did see a school of larger Bluefin, but it was just a good show for our passengers. This is the third trip in a row that we’ve seen the larger Bluefin (over 100 pounds) show, but no bites. These fish are going to bite one day, and I hope we are the boat that the get busy with. We also caught a handful of Yellowfin and Dorado to top off our catch. We will move to the west tonight, and try for the Bluefin in the early morning hours, so wish us luck.
