Lake Mead Fish Report 12-06-07

Nevada Department of Wildlife

Cut bait has been the ticket for stripers along the beaches and at Hemenway Point where a 10-year old angler reeled in a 22-pound fish last weekend. A pair of stripers weighing 12 and 14 pounds were also caught in this area. Anglers continue to catch fish in the one- to three-pound class in the Vegas Bay area on cut bait and by jigging hard baits. The NDOW trout stocking plan calls for the planting of rainbow trout each week at B-5 road and at Hemenway. Trout anglers may want to try rainbow PowerBait or small hardware like Panther Martins, Super Dupers or Little Jakes. Striper activity usually picks up in the vicinity of the trout plants.
