FLOWS @BOCA 313cfs @FARAD 327 CFS @RENO 262

Fishing on the Truckee has slowed down a bit with recent storm activity but the river is still putting out some nice fish. You'll need to fish slower water to get the best shot at fish that have slowed down their feeding activity while water temperatures are cooler. Fish areas that have a little bit of current flow but stay away from the faster stretches as fish won't hold in that type of water at this time of the year. The best method for catching fish under these conditions is to use smaller nymph patterns with strike indicators. You've got to get your flies right in front of the fish to get the grab at this time of the year so make sure to fish each run thouroughly. Dead drifting and slow stripping large streamer patterns can be productive too. BEST FLIES FOR THE TRUCKEE: Bottom Rollers in Sherbet and Hares Ear, Copper Johns 16-20, Two Tone Hunchback Nymphs 18-20, Gold Bead Flashback PT 14-16, Gunni Specials 6, Stanley Streamer Brown/Chub 6, and Bullethead Streamer Gold 6
