As of Thursday, December 10, South Fork was about 90% covered with unsafe ice. There were several hundred yards of open water shoreline in the northeast corner by the dam parking lot. Jet Ski Beach also had open water along the shore. In some areas there was about 10 feet of open water before you hit ice, while in others it was as far as 30 feet from shore. However, with the single digit temperatures forecast for next week, expect this to ice over once again. This lake is generally a week to three weeks behind Wild Horse for safe ice due to its exposure and lower elevation.
