http://www.dfw.state.or.usIn addition to trout, the reservoir has also been stocked with coho smolts for the last few years. Many people mistakenly think these fish are kokanee. All of the coho smolts are adipose fin-clipped, and please remember to release the ones less than 8-inches long. In Galesville Reservoir, all landlocked salmon are considered trout and are part of the five-per-day trout limit, with only one trout over 20-inches long allowed for harvest. Galesville has been stocked with approximately 8,000 rainbow trout in 2015.
Bass fishing is typically slow in winter months, but there are still opportunities to catch bass and other panfish with the use of bait and artificial lures such as swimbaits. Call 541-837-3302 for information on camping and boat launching conditions.
