General Information: Flows are down to 4500cfs out of Keswick, and the river's in great shape from the Posse grounds down to Red Bluff. The river has been fishing well for the most part, although there have been some tough days when the cold North Winds have blown. There are still some steelhead being hooked in the river below Anderson, and the fishing in Redding for big trout has been consistent, although we're hooking a lot more than we're landing, loosing and breaking off many big fish on tiny flies. There are a few (still not many) salmon on the redds, but not many. Most productive flies have been rubberlegs, and small baetis or midge patterns.

Fishing Conditions & Hatches: ??The most productive methods have been indicator nymphing the deeper runs and dropoffs, The egg bite has been falling due to the limited numbers of salmon in the river. Small nymphs seem to be the most effective flies at this time

Flies:
?Ģ Lightning Biot Baetis #16
?Ģ Gidget #18
?Ģ Drifting Flashback P.T.#16-18
?Ģ Micro Mayfly (Black, Brown, or Olive) #16-18
?Ģ Superfloss Rubberleg (Brown or Black)

The Fly Shop's Tips: ??Be wary of drifting the upper float between the Posse Grounds and Bonnyview boat ramps, unless you're with a very experienced guide or are comfortable in whitewater situations. Recent bridge construction on the Cypress Street Bridge in Redding has put some serious hazards in the river, with a narrow chute (only 20 feet wide) to navigate.
