http://www.gilligansguideservice.comThe streamer clinic for May 14th, and 15th is SOLD OUT. I am putting on 2 more separate clinics, June 4th, and 5th. June 4th is almost full. I will still do a clinic where we will do a little bit of everything, “bottoms up,”or maybe just a dry fly clinic out on the LT this summer, we’ll see.
Very warm this week up in the ole Hirsch, and that’s got the bugs pop’n and fish seem to be hungry and some looking up. Buds are budding too, and everything is turning green, and the deer are out and it’s just kinda awesome. Just a great time of year up here.
The Truckee River is finally starting to fish more like spring and less like winter. Flows have dropped to around 700 cfs, (around here), the rainbows are post spawn and eating again and fish are spreading out. Clarity is very good despite the warm weather. For all you second homeowners up here, don’t bust out the expensive patio furniture yet, because it will still snow.
You can get fish any old way now, indo, tight line, streamers, dry droppers. Blue wing olives, skwalas, and I have seen a few march browns. March browns will get some fish looking up… They key in on those things. Go into Mountain Hardware (Truckee) and get some of my march brown soft hackles. Tie one on at about 10:00 o’clock, watch out. That should be on your rig for the next month.
My open days are almost gone until mid-June. Get on it if you want to get back on the Truckee River.

The Little Truckee River is low for this time of year. They are trying to fill Stampede. Look for flows to stay low out there..,bummer. There is about 400 cfs coming into Stampede right now, and Stampede is slowly rising, but it’s going to take a while. We are all kinda fretting on the flows situation out on the LT right now. ......
