CATFISH

The catfish bite this weekend was best in shallow waters. During the warmer months, shoreline fishing can be as productive as fishing from a boat because the cats are feeding in shallow water. Fish along the banks for Hermit Cove and Eagle Point or take a boat to Shadow Cove. 1000 lbs. of Catfish will be stocked this week. These cats will be hungry and waiting for you to drop your line! We are open every day this month at 6 a.m.!

BASS

The bass bite was reported steady throughout the weekend in Hermit Cove and Half Moon Cove. Anglers were using Senkos with a Texas Rig.

PANFISH

Bluegill were reported being caught mid-morning on night crawlers. Other effective techniques are a meal worm on a jighead or night crawler with a Carolina Rig.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

The Catfish Reopener is set for July 22nd! 2000 lbs. of Catfish will be stocked for this event. Prizes will be awarded to the largest and smallest catfish caught… be sure to have your catches weighed in at the bait shop and confirmed by a Ranger by 11:15 p.m.!

The lake will be open for boating, fishing, and family fun every day in July! Hours of Operation (July 1st– July 31st):

Sunday-Thursday 6 a.m. –7:30 p.m.
Friday-Saturday 6 a.m. –midnight

The Campground Kiosk always have plenty of firewood and ice for purchase to meet your camping needs! At the kiosk we also sell Mystical Fire colorant for a brilliant campfire display!
