http://www.countyofsb.org/parks/cachuma.sbcThe catfish bite is still going strong as many limits were reported this week. The most common baits used were nightcrawlers and mackerel in 5-10ft of water. The east end of the lake seems to be holding an abundance of cats at about a 1lb average. Trout can still be caught trotting the dam area with lures sinking 7-10ft though many anglers using leadcore line were able to hook them around 40ft deep. The smallmouth continue to bite well along Cachuma Bay Point primarily on worms and crank baits in the morning. Crappie have picked up over the last week Most were caught with crappie jigs and mealworms this week but small Kastmasters have also proved to be a good substitute.
