We left today on our annual Butch’s Big Fish memorial charter with charter master Jimmy Roberts. After loading up on bait we headed offshore to the yft grounds. On the way there we swung a little wide and found a very impressive area of bft. We tried a couple schools for boils only so we decided to keep heading down and try the bft tomorrow. We got into the area just in time to pick off a couple schools before dark and ended up with 45 yft. Good way to start. We are going to try for some bft tomorrow first and see what happens. Wish us luck.

Hey folks- We arrived at the yellowfin ground about 0600. Shortly after arriving we had a stop for 30 or so fish. We stopped on more sonar schools and breezers afterward for a few boils only. These yft are acting like the bft up north. We took a tour and tried several nice kelps which some had free swimming yellowtail on them but they too didn’t want to bite well. Hey folks- We stopped on a very impressive school at about 0400. At 0430 we got our first bite and a few more soon after. These were not the 50-90# fish we saw in daylight hours. After some long battles and some losses we landed a 115 and a 205# bft. We didn’t see much after that till lunch when the smaller fish popped up but again, but they didn’t bite.
