Hot Creek Fishing Report

Some good news for a change at Hot Creek. Rumor has it that trout will be planted as “sub-catchables” as early as this year. Hot Creek has suffered immensely from a lack of planting fish from the HC hatchery due to the confusing, and hypocritical laws that have been passed in recent years. We of course will confirm this after the fact; but it is great news. No doubt the fish will be sterile (triploids); however the addition of trout here will bring HC into a viable fishery once again if it occurs. Water levels are really low once again this year, and the aquatic weeds are making extended drifts difficult. There is limited fishable water here.

This is a year around fishery with special regs in place.
