Ocean Salmon Fishery Closure Notice

Recreational Ocean Salmon Fishing From Horse Mountain to Point Arena (Fort Bragg Area) will close in federal waters (3-200 miles from shore) on April 1, 2008*.

Inseason action was taken to close this fishery on March 12, 2008 by the Pacific Fishery Management Council (PFMC) and the National Marine Fisheries Service.

Regulations for the May 2008 - April 2009 ocean salmon fishing season will be decided by the PFMC at their April 7-11 meeting in Seattle, Washington.

* The California Fish and Game Commission is currently taking emergency action to simultaneously close state waters (< 3 miles from shore) in the same area.
