http://www.royalpolaris.comHello everyone; What a difference a day makes. With the morning being a bit slow. We would scratch a few fish until late afternoon. We made a move to try our luck at Yellowtail, and boy would we be in for a surprise. We dropped the anchor, and the Yellowtail didn’t take long, it was game on. But to our surprise, the Yellowfin started showing.
We would run into a few problems with the dropper-loop fisherman, and tuna fisherman. Once the Yellowfin would start making the finally approach. We would have Yellowtail and Yellowfin come to color at the same time, the crew was busy keeping anglers out of tangles, gaffing fish, bring them over the rails. It was a very busy afternoon. Once the smoke cleared, we would end up with 30Yellowtail, most of which were in the 25 to 35 pound range, and 37 Yellowfin, that were in the 70 to 135 pound range.
Lucky angler today was Ron Kono, with a 135.6 pound Yellowfin tuna.
We will try to make a tank of Mackerel, and try again tomorrow. With a full day left to fish, we are hoping for a good day, so wish us luck.
Team R/p.
