Hello everyone;
Our day began with skiffs rides on the northwest corner of Cedros Island to see the pinniped rookeries (sea lions and elephant seals). We were immediately greeted by a large group of young playful seas lion pups. They followed the skiffs as we made our way to see many more sea lions that were hauled out on the beach and enjoying the morning sun.

Over the course of the mile we covered in the skiffs, we saw a harbor seal, 100s of sea lions, mating elephant seals, female elephant seals nursing their young, and dozens of weaners (elephant seal pups that have been abondoned by their mothers).

We also enjoyed many great bird sightings. On one rock, we saw both an American Oyster-catcher and a black Oyster-catcher side-by-side. We also watched an osprey dive down to the water to catch a fish.

Our adventure continued about an hour south at a point called Grand Canyon. The canyon was very green this year, and it was a beautiful day to hike amongst the wildflowers. Several species of birds were found, including a Brewer's Sparrow. One passengers even saw a Horned Lizard.

At 15:00 hours everyone started back to the boat, we pulled our anchor and started heading south to San Ignacio Lagoon. We should arrive around 05:00 hours. We will have an early breakfast, then head out in search for Whale's. With that note, wish us luck and we will keep you posted on our upcoming events. The R/p crew.

All photos today were taken by Diane Alps.
