We’ll wake up early tomorrow morning to find ourselves anchored just off the beaches of Cabo and all but two passengers will be saying their good byes to the crew and what we’ve called home for the last 15 days. It was another memorable trip for me and all aboard, one we’ll be telling stories about for a long time to come. Eddie just snagged a nice wahoo in open water on the boat line (his first in middle of nowhere wahoo!) and it will go to the only passenger who didn’t already have one. As far as tuna goes, there is no one who didn’t catch several good ones. The fact that all have tuna and wahoo now, sets this trip above many others. It was movie marathon day as you can imagine, and tonight is the special farewell dinner featuring surf and turf a.k.a. King crab legs and fillets.

It is also a special day for our charter host Jack, namely his birthday so congrats to Jack. Also it’s time to thank Jack and Accurate reels for all the loaner gear, t-shirts, jigs, shirts, reels, rods, and frankly so many give aways I couldn’t possibly keep track of them all. In fact, he’s still giving stuff away because tomorrow morning there will be a landing party in Cabo in the marina, and the first 100 dollars towards the bill is on “Jacuratte”. Once again I also need to thank contributing sponsors, Izorline, Salas Lures, Calstar rods, Cousins Rods, and Seeker rods. Finally of course I need to thank on behalf of all the passengers, the amazing, helpful, knowledgeable, friendly, hardest working crew in the fleet. As it turns out they were one man short on this trip. You never would have known it though, only because they worked their rear ends off constantly hustling to do whatever a passenger needed done on top of the boat work and maintenance and night watches that are their daily duties. Great work as usual and heartfelt thanks to Eddie, Joe, Big D, Doug, and last and hardly least Capt. Jonathan.

Maybe the biggest thanks of all (but we may curse them when we step on the scale back home), goes to our master chefs, Dave and Mark. The volume and variety of the food this trip is perhaps the best I can remember. Hopefully I’ve (Larry from St. Louis) been informative as well as entertaining with my reports, and my final thanks are to you out there for some of the feedback I’ve been getting on the reports and the poems. This will be the last one for me and here is the final……..

Desperate to spawn, the fat Sturgeon
Thought her best chance was eat’n and purge’n
But she wound up bulimic
And now’s so anemic
Sadly she’ll wind up a virgin.
