Bass fishing has been on the upswing this past week, as the largemouth are coming up from the depths and cruising the banks. Small swimbaits, drop shot, texas rigs, and assorted creature baits were all fished successfully. The lakes blue catfish population also went on the chew, as La Mesa angler Ryan Hulbert can attestlo. Hulbert used cut mackerel to subdue a pair of 25lbers, and a 45lb kicker, all released. Locations were undisclosed. Once again, panfish were absent from the counts, but with warming temperatures, should become active in the near future.
