http://www.myoutdoorbuddy.comOne of my favorite days of the year is always helping out with the CDFW Free Kid's Fishing Day events and last Saturday was no exception. Almost 100 youngsters joined the many volunteers at the Lassen View Ponds in Viola for the opportunity to catch trout.
As in past years many youngsters gleefully announce landing their first fish ever as for many this is their first time fishing. I had the pleasure of helping a number of young anglers who are now hooked for life. Many walked away saying that they wanted to go fishing again and soon.
Fishing is a sport that can be enjoyed and shared for many years and passed down to generations. It is great to see so many get their start at these events and I am grateful to be able to even have a small part in that development.
