In the early morning hours, there are a few breaking fish in open water. These fish have been difficult to catch. You're better off concentrating your efforts in 25' to 40' with Texas rigs, jigs and drop shotted worms. Most of the largies have been 1.5 lbs to 2.5 lbs with the occasional 4 or 5 pounder coming in. Hand size bluegill are still on top, with a 1/2 a crawler and a split shot; which is the best way to get the panfish. Other than a few red ear mixed in with the 'gills all the other species were no-shows last week.

Bass have been biting flukes, and jerk baits in the early morning hours. Drop shot and Texas rigs have been producing later in the day. Most fish have been holding in 20' to 30' on main lake points and coves. Bluegill have been showing in brushy areas along the southern shoreline. Meal worms, red worms and nightcrawlers have been the producing baits for the panfish. No word on any catfish this past week. ......
