The East is running at about 407 cfs right now and has been fishing very well. We’ve had a couple good streamer reports but it’s been mainly nymphing. This flow is a little bit high for some anglers but most anglers are able to find some good water to fish, there’s lots of new rainbows in the river that have come from the Reservoir as well as some good browns and a cutthroat every now and then. The largest fish we’ve been hearing about are in the mid 20’s lately. It seems that the upper mile section has been the best though we have had some good reports from the Rosachi in Nevada, the stretch below the bridge will probably get much better when the flows go below about 300. Patterns to try include: fox’s poopah, lafontaines sparkle pupa, buckskin caddis, Darth baetis, flashback emerger pheasant tail, zebra midge, san juan worm, sculpzilla, dead drift crayfish and zuddler.
