Hi Gang,

We awoke to a calm ocean and clear skies today. As we watched the sunrise over coffee we had our first bite, no doubt a wahoo as we heard the line rip across the water as it ran up to the bow. A short time later we had our first fish of the day on board, a 35 pound wahoo on straight mono. We had a number of bites after as a spot of fish got on us this morning. We landed more wahoo to start out our day. Nice. After our morning wahoo excitement we transitioned into yellowtail. This yellowtail bit wide open for over an hour. Dropper loop rigs and yo yo jigs were the best methods this morning. Incredible action. We pulled anchor just after 1000 and made a move to target yellowfin tuna. Shortly after lunch we set up for tuna and it didn't take long for a nice school to settle in on us. Fast paced, wide open action. The guys fishing the skip jigs were on fire and catching the larger sized fish up to 30 pounds. Super fun fishing, incredible action. We ended up catching wahoo to start our day, transitioned into wide open yellowtail, made a move and had wide open yellowfin tuna fishing, and we even picked up one 25 pound bluefin tuna and one amberjack. Couldn't have scripted this day much better. Everyone is stoked. Our chefs out did themselves tonight with a dinner of thick cut pork chops, apple mashed potatoes, carrots and key lime pie for dessert. Doug Delany paired the meal with a 2014 Kunde Sauvignon Blanc. Amazing. We will be working up tomorrow. Life is good on the Intrepid, Captain Bill Cavanaugh and the Intrepid Team

If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 224-4088 to get in on the action.
