http://www.daveyslocker.comEven though a couple weeks "behind schedule", Barracuda have made Coastal fishing a lot of fun since last Friday, when they made their first show just outside Newport Harbor. We had outstanding fishing on Friday and Saturday then realized a little slow-down Sunday through Tuesday. Today (Wednesday) the bite is W-I-D-E O-P-E-N again. The 3/4 Day boats are into the Barracuda big time today and we expect the 1/2 Day boat to get in on the action this afternoon since the fish were still biting at 12:30 PM. When Barracuda show up they usually stay in the area for a few weeks, but who knows. We have them here now, so this is the time to come and get 'em.
We have (2) 1/2 Day trips daily (except the Saturday AM trip is not available this week). Those trips, on the "WESTERN PRIDE", leave at 6 AM and again at 12:30 PM.
We have a 3/4 Day trip available Thursday and Friday on the 'FREELANCE" leaving at
7 AM each day and a Limited Load, Extended 3/4 Day trip available on the "FREELANCE" on Saturday, leaving at 6:30 AM. The "CALIBER" will run a regular 3/4 Day trip on Sunday leaving at 7:00 AM.
Also, don't be surprised to see the Twilight trips on the "FREELANCE" get in on the Barracuda action as they are good nocturnal biters when they settle in to the area. We have Twilight trips departing every evening at 7 PM on the "FREELANCE".
For you Shark Fishing enthusiasts, we have a Shark fishing trip this Saturday evening on the "CALIBER" leaving at 6:30 PM. Over the past two weeks, there have been a lot of Thresher Shark caught locally. They're typically associated with daytime fishing, but we do occasionally get them at night. If the Thresher are around the Mako's probably are too, so you might want to give it a try.

Well, Spring is here, the water temperature is rising, and it appears that the fish know it and are acting the like they're ready to go! CALICO BASS: Calicos have really turned on at Catalina Island. The 3/4 Day trips have realized good counts over the past 10 days. It looks like they're finally hungry and anxious to "take the bait". Live sardines and small-medium plastics are the hot tickets. If they're biting at Catalina, the......
