Catching the Spotlight

We had an amazing Trout Opening Weekend! We want to thank Calaveras Trout Farm for the great fish they stocked and we would also like to thank all of our sponsors.

Albert Wilson and Dave Gehrke (top left) caught these great trout on Rainbow Powerbait. They were fishing Lake 2. David Corrales (top right) had a good day. He caught these three monsters on a mini jig in Lake 2. Brian Castleton (bottom left) limited out on Lake 3 using a mini jig. Larry Allen (bottom right) ended up winning a fishing pole with this healthy trout. We still have plenty of trout in Lakes 2 through 4, including tagged fish!

Mini jigs were the most productive bait of the weekend. The trout were very active. Powerbait did not disappoint though. We had a lot of trout caught on this as well. A lot of anglers are throwing swim baits for bass now but I haven't heard many reports of fish being caught just yet.
