The Fish Cabo Fleet reported in for five fishing days that reflected 8 stripers released, 1 sailfish released, and 1 wahoo. Overall, the fishing was difficult, but not for a lack of fish, just a lack of biters. Angling customers have been very slow this past week, mostly due to the unfortunate and ever increasing cost for airline tickets, which is likely to continue for a very long time. Overall fish counts for the Gaviota Fleet and Fish Cabo boats for 31 days fished reflected 23 stripers, (19 released) 9 dorado, 1 sailfish released, 3 wahoo and 4 yellowfin tuna.

Cabo Climate: Mostly sunny and warm, temps from 67 nights to 89 daytime highs.

Sea Conditions: Northwest wind continues, but not as strong as it has been, Most of the fishing is from Gray rock to Chileno and for the most part, the boats are not affected by the NW breezes until the afternoons.

Best Lure/Bait: Live bait is very necessary witth mostly "short" biters on the artificials.

Best Fishing area: Enormous amounts of unwilling to bite billfish throughout the area, with heavy concentrations from Gray Rock to Chileno Bay. According to Roberto Marquez, owner of the Fish Cabo boats, you can bait up to 50 billfish a day for maybe a bite or two and if you get lucky, more.

Live Bait Supply: Very good supply of caballitos. Mackerel are available, but they are weak from being transported through too many current breaks (they are imported from Magdalena Bay) and tend to die before getting used.
