Good Start

Hi Gang,

Our morning started out like many, a nice sunrise with a moderate following sea over a cup of coffee, a great breakfast prepared by our chefs, and then a tackle seminar covering tackle and techniques for the fishing days ahead. This mornings seminar covered basic gear and techniques for catching big yellowfin tuna. Always make sure that the line above your hook is straight and not kinked or curled or frayed. Even a small kink or a light fray in your line,  from being in a tangle or even rubbing on the bottom of the boat, can make a huge difference in your bait presentation and prevent you from getting bit. We stopped at Alijos Rocks shortly before lunch and had some pretty good wahoo fishing. Most of our fish were 30 to 40 pounds with a few that look to be close to 60 pounds. Super fun. We had about 5 stops on the wahoo before we continued south to put ourselves in position for fishing tuna. To go with some good wahoo fishing, we also picked up 7 nice dorado and 1 yellowtail that was about 25 pounds. A nice start to our trip. We will check in tomorrow. Life is good, Captain Bill Cavanaugh and the Intrepid Team
