GENERAL CONDITIONS

The weather has been beautiful with temperatures in the low-40s in the early morning that rise up to the mid-50s during the day. Surface temperature this week is sitting at 58 degrees. The hot bite has been trout with many anglers hooking up.

Del Valle has received several fish plants of 1000 lbs. the last few weeks and is expected to receive fish plants for the next three weeks so trout fishing at Del Valle should be phenomenal!

CATFISH

Catfish have slowed down this week with few anglers having success. Most fisherman are fishing points and deep drop-offs. Best baits to use would be either anchovies, night crawlers or cut sardines.

TROUT

For trout, most anglers are using either Powerbait or Powerworms. I also recommend using either Kastmasters, mice tails, or small spinners. Make sure you find a shallow sandy beach to fish for trout.

BLACK BASS

Black Bass are a good target this time of year, most anglers like to use soft plastics (swim baits, robo worms, Senkos, etc.) I would also recommend using either a crank bait or a top-water lure (Heddon Spook, pencil poppers, etc.) Look for fallen trees, rocky points and tule patches.

STRIPED BASS

Striped bass have shown up this week with anglers catching them in the 22-26-inch range on bait, either anchovies or cut sardines. Most of the stripers have come from fishing points and rock walls.
