The East is running about 75 cfs right now, this is a great flow for this time of the year. The weather has been pretty cold lately which has made the fishing a bit tough. There aren’t very many anglers braving the cold so reports are fairly scarce but the anglers we have talked to have been getting into a few fish here and there, not great numbers of fish but there seems to be some good quality right now. The miracle mile section and the section from the bridge to Murphy’s Pond seem to both have some good fish in them. There has been some streamer action as well as nymphing. Most of the anglers we’ve talked to are reporting 1 to 3 or so fish per day with some taping up to around 24 inches.
Recommended Flies:
Wooly buggers, muddlers, zuddlers, double bunnies, WD-40, flashback emerger, silver streak, lite bright prince, copper John, psycho prince, miracle nymph and zebra midge.
FYI - The Nevada Department of Wildlife is re-vamping their fishing/hunting license program and will be sending Ken's a computer license terminal in February for our customers to purchase Nevada licenses. During the change over I have been asked to send in all my paper license books on January 1 so they can be reconciled with the department. This means that I will not be able to sell any Nevada licenses for about 4 to 8 weeks after the first of the year. If you're planning a trip to fish Nevada waters during this time be sure to get your license ahead of time, either online or from a Nevada license dealer! I'll keep you posted when my terminal arrives and we're online!
