The East is running at about 130 cfs right now and has been fishing fairly well, most of the reports we’ve been getting have been of anglers getting into 3 to 6 fish per day with the larger ones going in the 19 to 23 inch range. There has been some good nymph action and some streamer action though I haven’t heard of any good dry action lately. The weather has been pretty mild (for Bridgeport!) which has made fishing the river more comfortable than it usually is this time of year. I haven’t heard anything from the Nevada side lately but it should be fishing about the same as the California side.
Recommended Flies:
WD-40, zebra midge, top secret midge, flashback emerger, miracle nymph, prince nymph, soft emerger, biot midge, zuddler, wooly bugger, jj special.
FYI - The Nevada Department of Wildlife is re-vamping their fishing/hunting license program and will be sending Ken's a computer license terminal in February for our customers to purchase Nevada licenses. During the change over I have been asked to send in all my paper license books on January 1 so they can be reconciled with the department. This means that I will not be able to sell any Nevada licenses for about 4 to 8 weeks after the first of the year. If you're planning a trip to fish Nevada waters during this time be sure to get your license ahead of time, either online or from a Nevada license dealer! I'll keep you posted when my terminal arrives and we're online!
