Lake Camanche Fishing report by Ron Howe and Michael Coleman
Fishing is tough but quality bites can be had. Reaction was good early in the week for Michael Coleman in isolated areas for bigger bites. Michael was throwing A-rigs with Bass Assassin Die Dapper Swimbaits. The Reaction bite had died come New Years Day,a few bites were all we were able to get all day . Small plastic worms, got most of the bites in 4″ Natural colors. We caught a few fish drop shotting, and a few fish on the new Berkley “General” in Green Pumkin Melon wacky rigged with a nail weight. Slower presentations were getting more bites. Just drag the bait super slow and you’ll get some very lite bites. Fish were in 15-40ft and very random with 1 here and 1 there. We did catch a BIG Lake Camanche Rainbow Trout ! We saw a swirl and casted the Berkley General right at it, a 8.26 LB Rainbow Trout swallowed it! Thought it was a 10lb Largemouth at first, but it was a huge Rainbow Trout.
