GENERAL CONDITIONS

The weather this week has been perfect for trout anglers. Cold and calm mornings make for great fishing weather. The hot bite this week has been trout with many anglers limiting out either from shore or boat. Most anglers like to use Powerbait and Powereggs. I would also recommend using mice tails, Kastmasters or small spinners.

CATFISH

Catfish fishing is slow this week with few anglers targeting them. If you target catfish, fish points and rock walls. Best baits to use would be either chicken liver, anchovies and night crawlers.

TROUT

For trout, most anglers are using Powerbait, Powereggs, or night crawlers. I also recommend using either Kastmasters, small spinners, or small jerk baits. Fish shallow sand flats and coves.

BLACK BASS

Black Bass are a good target this time of year, most anglers like to use soft plastics (swim baits, robo worms, Senkos, etc.) I would also recommend using either a crank bait or a top-water lure (Heddon Spook, pencil poppers, etc.) Look for fallen trees, rocky points and tule patches.

STRIPED BASS

Still no reports of anyone having any luck fishing for stripers. If you do target stripers, anchovies and mackerel work the best for still fishing. I would also recommend jigging with a Kastmaster or hair raiser.
