"This was another one for the books," said the report February 19. "We finished our trip with good fishing on Yellowfin tuna from 120 to over 200 pounds. Largest fish today was caught by Gary Lacroix. Gary was fishing the kite when the monster of a fish devoured his flying fish. The battle took Gary around the boat a few times. After a 40-minute battle, the fish would came to color and the crew put 3 gaffs into the giant. Each year Gary comes out, he improves his personal best. The fish taped out to 273 pounds, but in my eyes this fish will go over the 280 mark. We will see once we hit the dock.

"We also had a showing on Wahoo, but most of our passengers were trying to finish their trip with a giant Yellowfin or two. Dean Yoshizumi was fishing a sardine, when he was almost spooled by a freight train of a tuna. But this fish won his freedom when Dean's hook came back straight.

"Our weather today took a change also, with overcast skies, a slight breeze out of the northeast at 10 to 12 knots, and a small chop on the sea. We departed the bank at 18:30 hours (6:30 p.m.), and we are now headed for Cabo San Lucas. We will continue to post reports until the 25th of February."
