Howard Prairie has been stocked with legal-size rainbow trout, and trout fishing has been fair. Boat anglers have been doing well by still fishing with bait. Bank anglers need to find areas with access to deeper water—like between Klum Landing and the dam. With the lake being lower that normal for this time of year, the water is too shallow to provide good fishing at many of the popular bank fishing locations. The lake is 64 percent full, and all the boat ramps except for Grizzly are open.
