Sadly the DH has been cancelled by the folks at Western Outdoor News for 2008. I spoke with Bill Hutchison at WON and with the high costs involved in putting on the contest and the probable impact on number of entrants by the ridiculous gas prices and the overall economy, it was decided to take it off the slate for this year. I did have a good conversation with him regarding the 2009 contest and the possibility of a joint effort between WON and some of us up here to reduce their costs, primarily in bringing a large contingent of WON people up here to orchestrate and judge the DH. The DH is a great event and I believe ther e is plenty of support to make both the DH and the Stillwater Classic viable. Let's hope we can make it happen. I'll keep you posted. WON was also graciaous enough to send all the past DH entrants a notice about the cancellation for 2008 and to promote the Stillwater Classic, which will go off as scheduled. Thanks guys!
