If the kiosk is closed, please use the yellow Ventek machine to pay for parking (exact change only, please). For fishing permits, you may use either the Ventek machine or the blue iron ranger posts across from the kiosk, from the entrance from the Isherwood Staging Area, and from the walk-through gates by the Sequoia Bridge and from the Niles gate.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST BE 100 FEET AWAY FROM THE FISH TUBE, THE BOAT DOCK, AND THE BEACH AREA while fishing from the shore and from a boat. Also, note that the use of lead fishing tackle is prohibited at Quarry Lakes. You can exchange lead tackle at the kiosk in a “1 for 1” trade for stainless steel weights.
On October 29th, Shawn R. from Foster City caught three trout on Fisherman's Row. He caught one on nightcrawlers, one on green pumpkin Powerbait, and one by fly-fishing with an olive and green Woolly Bugger.
On October 29th, Dexter M. from Union City caught his limit of trout from a kayak in front of Fisherman's Row. He was using Cotton Cordell Big O lures. The largest trout was over four pounds.

The water temperature out here at Lake Del Valle is still in the low to mid 60's for the whole day although, the trout have really started to come out in force with many getting caught in the shallow coves out in Swallow Bay or on the East Beach. Micetails seem to be their preferred bait although you can get them on a nightcrawler or Powerbait, lure fishing for trout is still spotty though. We have received one plant of......
