Been so nice down here I've been fishing in a hoody! Definitely doesn't feel like winter in Bishop. Flows are down below 100cfs and this opens up the entire river to fishing and wading. It's actually hard to tell this entire area burned last February. The water is clean and cold, and there are plenty of fish to be caught. I picked up a couple of rocks and it always astounds me how many bugs I find. Things seem to get going fairly early down here still. Lots of midges flying around all morning, but the real fun begins around 11 when the mayflies start to hatch. They'll eat just about anything on top, so I just ran a size 16 parachute adams, and slammed fish til almost 1 in the afternoon. I didn't see another person the entire time I was there!
