Lake Amador Fishing Report 12-22-2018

Two trout plants of Lake Amador Donaldson Hatchery trout and cut bows were released into the lake with 500 to 700 pounds released during the week. The fish average have had an average weight of 4.5 pounds. The lake rose slightly to 28 feet from the spillway and the current warmer temperature is holding at 57 degrees. The best bait is various bright colors of trout sought bait, Power Eggs, or Fire Tiger Rapalas. A good majority of the fish are in the 20 feet below the waters surface. The annual Lake Amador Trout Derby will last until March 3, 2019 with 300 tagged fish and $5000 in cash or prizes. A one time entry fee is $7.00 per angler. Trout plants will continue with 5000 pounds this month and 5600 pounds in March.
