This past week was pretty much day to day, but overall action was the same as the previous week. Bass have been scattered from 10’ to 60’ deep off main lake points. Drop shooting made for most catches, although Charles Hoofnagle of Lexington, VA caught a 6.6 lb largemouth on a square bill off a rental boat this past Thursday.

Cooling water temps, and recent low pressure have made for a tough bass bite. There are still fish scattered through the water column, but the majority seem to be suspended at around 40 to 60 feet of water. It was reported that some anglers were actually sight fishing for the few fish on the bank with Senkos, and having some success. Bass action was fair last week, with the majority of fish coming out 40' to 60' of water. Drop shotting was the preferred method, although Texas rigs, and Carolina rigs also picked off a few fish. Look to main lake points for an occasional 3lb to 4lb kicker. ......
