Trout as Well as Bass are Good Options

Water levels are still above the footing of Thistle Creek boat ramp, so it is still possible at this time to launch a boat. Storage of water has begun which means that water elevations will slowly rise over the next few months. Best bet for anglers without a boat is to drive to the top of the reservoir where Quartzville Creek enters the reservoir. Large trout will sometimes forage where the river brings in food swept down from upstream. Check the US Army Corps of Engineer’s website for more information.

Trout as well as bass are good options for anglers this time of year. Look for them near ledges and drop-offs as well as near underwater structure. Kokanee fishing is a bit slow at the moment but should pick up once water temperatures get into the 50s.
