http://www.fishingvideos.comRoyal Polaris arrived at Fisherman's Landing September 5 under skipper Roy Rose's hand, after a five-day trip with 27 anglers.
"Today was nothing short of beautiful," wrote Rose September 3, "complete with flat calm seas, lots of sun, and biting fish. Our morning started out on the slow side, but the action heated up by the mid afternoon with a frantic stop on 25 to 40-pound Yellowfin tuna. After the tuna let up a bit, the big Yellowtail slid in and kept the action going strong. These were all quality fish all over 30 pounds with one pushing 45. With one day of fishing left, we are headed north to try and top off our wells with more Yellowfin and possibly some Albacore."
Brett Harmon of Bakersfield won the jackpot for a 41-pound yellowtail. Jerry Coburn of Port Hadlock, WA was second for a 36-pound tuna, and Andrew Cicesley of Morgan Hill got third place for a 32.5-pound yellowtail. None of the winners were available for a photo, so Dennis Mueller of Ramona posed with a good yellowtail to represent the trip.
