The Bass bite was good last week, and should get better as the lake warms. The backs of coves have been the best, but there are fish seemingly all over the lake in the 1’ to 12’ of water. Fly lines plastics, Texas rigs and drop shots have been the way to go. With the exception of a few redder, panfish went unreported last week, as did catfish.

It was another good week of bass fishing, with some anglers reporting up to 30 a day for their efforts. Fly-lined plastics, jigs, Texas rigs, and drop shot all produced. There was a 10.2 pound caught in a tournament this last Saturday, but most of the largies have been males in the 1lb to 3lb range. There were some redear caught this week before last, but no panfish, or catfish were reported to the concession this week. ......

Santa Ana conditions slowed the wide open bass bite of last week, but as of this Sunday the fishing was starting to pick up once again. There are beds showing up all over the lake, but no large fish were reported to the concession. Saint Patrick’s Day brought out David Lewis and his son, from Chula Vista, CA. They picked up a half dozen Red Ear Sunfish weighing up to 2lbs, and a few Bass on red worms and shiners. There......
