Last week at Lake Cachuma Marina the following fish were caught by anglers of all ages:
Crappie 1.5lbs. and Trout 4.5lbs. while trolling the lake. Bass were caught by casting. Along the wall a 2.5lbs. Crappie was caught with a Fire Tiger Eye. Later in the week bass were caught with senko plastic worms, 6 bass were caught by the dam while casting with garlic night crawlers.
The bass being caught right now are mostly large mouth.
You can see carp all over the lake, they are not being caught right now because anglers are not fishing for them.
Trout are located out to the east or 100 feet deep by the dam. Trolling for trout is your best options for them.

Lake Cachuma Marina and Tackle shop are now open from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. The lake is 78% full. We just added more pontoon boats and fishing boats to out fleet. Arrive early on the weekends to get a pontoon boat. The water level is still rising, we have reached 72.4% capacity. Trout are being caught daily along banks and the back wall opposite the marina. Try floating a worm, trolling with rapalas/spoons or some PowerBait. The average size has been 1-3 pounds, 5+ lbers. are also being caught. You can also try coves for Rainbow Trout (Johnson, Cachuma Bay, etc.) Large and Smallmouth Bass are being caught, although it is still early in the season. Try along points where reeds......
