Report Date:
http://www.cortezcharters.comAccording to Temo Verboonen, the lack of anglers has left most of the
boats doing their annual maintenance projects and getting the boats
ready for the upcoming season. Temo says the fish are there, but the
weather has been very rainy and the sea conditions have been rough,
with many port closure days over the past couple of weeks. When the
boats do get out, it's only a 1 or 2 boat day, but they have been
doing OK with the dorado and sailfish but there is no consistency
with the lack of anglers. The inshore fishing has been very
difficult due to the high surf and dirty waters, caused by the rough
seas and rain run-off. By early October, the weather and fishing
will begin to improve and change for the better and the skippers are
anxious to get back at sportfishing, (no one hates boat work more
than the crew).
I/Z Climate: Mostly cloudy, humid, and rainy, with temps from 72
nights to 90 daytime highs.
Sea Conditions; From moderate to rough, some big swell days and high
seas and wind chop, temps from 85-86 throughout the area.
