http://www.royalpolaris.comHello everyone;
Weather at Alijos was just gorgeous. We had overcast skies, flat seas, and a slight breeze. It was perfect for a great day of fishing.
Our day started out trolling for Wahoo, but they didn't cooperate with us. So after a no-show on the Wahoo, Billy put the anchor down. It didn't take long for the Yellowfin to find us, but they were not alone. We had Yellowfin on the line, but the Sharks were close by. We would hook large Yellowfin only to lose them to the Sharks. So Billy made a brief move. We started catching Yellowtail in the 12 to 15 pound catogory. Billy had one more move up his sleeve, so we pulled the anchor and bingo. We had fishing going until dark. We still lost fish to the Sharks, but we were landing our share. Most of the Yellowfin were in the 30 to 40 pound range, with some going 50 to 70 pounds. We ended our day with 78 Yellowfin, 28 Yellowtail, and 1 Wahoo.
After dinner we pulled the anchor and started making bait, once we had our tank full, some of the passengers tried there luck at late night Yellowtail fishing. For the one's who stayed up, the were payed off with quality Yellowtail up to 50+ pounds. That was our first day of fishing, so with that note, wish us luck.
