Calico Bass fishing keeps getting better every day. Even though the game fish didn’t want to bite again, anglers are having a blast catching bass and other shallow species. The deep water is putting out really nice quality Rockfish if groups decide that’s what they want. Conditions are great! Today the ocean was calm and the sky was overcast, and because of it the air temps were warm and even a little muggy. As we move into July, expect the boats to focus a lot of time in shallow spots, so bring a rod and reel your comfortable casting with line as light as 15 pound. Of course, bring a heavier setup too, but it’s looking like top water will be the focus for the next few months.
