Captains report seeing vast schools of tuna daily but getting them off an easy buffet of small anchovies has been the challenge. The wise angler would continue to bring an array of tackle including combos for 30# to100#line as the weight range of the tuna has been from fish in the 10-15 pound class to well over 200 pounds.

Captain Greg of the AZTEC called in from their overnight trip with 3 Bluefin Tuna weighing in at 256, 234 and 174 pounds! The AZTEC has 1.5 Day trips departing next week that will be specifically targeting these larger Bluefin. The SAN DIEGO's full day trip checked in with 2 Yellowfin Tuna and 4 Bluefin Tuna.The PACIFIC VOYAGER's 3 day trip returned with 71 Yellowtail, 10 Bluefin and 2 Yellowfin. ......
