"We arrived to Hurricane bank at 08:30," read the report from March 18, "and it didn't take long for Mr. Wahoo to find us. It was a fair bite on the Wahoo. Most were in the 40 to 50-pound range, with a few smaller ones. Billy trolled around the bank looking for signs of giant Yellowfin tuna, but there was not much life. So we dropped the anchor, and put the kites out, and bang!

"Bill Taylor and James Townsend, both on the kite, got bit by Yellowfin tuna. Bill's fish was the larger of the two, and it was around 150 pounds. That would be the largest fish of the day. Right after we landed James's fish, the sharks moved in like ants at a picnic on a hot summer day. We could not even fish a sardine, so it was time to pull the anchor and troll around again. It didn't take long for the Wahoo to find us again, but they had company. The sharks would get in on this Wahoo action also.

"So we continued to troll, landing a few skin, but it was time to try for Yellowfin again. The afternoon was a bit slow, but this was only our first day of fishing, and we look forward to tomorrow's fishing. Once the sun went down, we pulled our anchor and went looking for our live flyers. It didn't take long to make a tank of flyers. With live flyers tomorrow, who knows what might happen."
