This weekend 100 anglers checked in 205 bass, the biggest was 4.79 pounds and the largest 5 fish bag weighed in at 18 pounds. The shad bite is on along with action baits. The crappie are biting like crazy which for this time of year is crazy. Bluegill bite is still going strong.

Bass fishing: Several reports of people have 20+ fish days! Jerk baits, drop shot and everything related to shad. There is a lot of shad right now so the big bass are going after it. Bluegill bite is still on but slowing down some. A lot of cat fisherman out here this week so they must be biting and just not telling us! ......

The temperature at El Capitan this last week was extreme. The morning and afternoon bass bite is still good. Still a lot of bluegill biting about 10 feet deep and 10 feet off shore near vegetation. Still hearing tales of crappie biting. Very strange for this time of year! ......
