The East is running at about 152 cfs right now. The fishing down there has been pretty good for most anglers with the better reports saying they’re catching 5 to 15 fish per half day or so, with quite a few reports this week of fish over 20 inches as well. Of course there are other reports that are not as good as that but it seems that if you are on your game and getting good drifts with your nymphs and dries you should be able to get into some nice fish. Caddis nymphs and small midge patterns still seem to be working the best, there has also been some pretty good dry fly evenings this past couple weeks, the fish aren’t coming up every evening but it’s good to be ready if they do. We’ve also had some good reports on streamers lately, mostly in the early morning or later in the evening. The weather has been fairly cool the last couple days so the water temps are still good and you can still not worry about fishing mid-day.
Patterns to try: WD-40, rainbow warrior, top secret midge, radiation baetis, darth baetis, cotton candy, psycho prince, soft hackle, squirmy wormy, san juan worm, zebra midge, red-headed stepchild, silver streak, flashback emerger, zuddler, dead drift crayfish, moal leech, seal bugger, sculpzilla, chubby Chernobyl, stimulator, BWO, blue dun, parachute adams, elk hair caddis, E/C caddis.
