Good solid fall fishing on the Truckee River.
We’ve had mild weather for the most part. Nothing exciting weather wise yet. Cold nights, mild afternoons. Be great to see some rain. Cold today, but it’s going to warm back up this week again.
Flows are great. Could be really low right now, but they’re still up around 400, from Boca on down.
I’ve been mainly out East on the lower river. Waters cooling and the streamer fishing is starting to pick up. Nymphing is always pretty good, if you’re nymphing. I like to guide with the streamers exclusively from now on though winter. That’s how you move the big fish. Some days it’s good hunting, some not, but there’s always a shot.
