The Truckee river has great flows for spring time. It is not too high and minimal snow melt is happening. Please be sure to wade carefully near the shorelines. The fish are hanging out near the shore, so be sure not to scare them. The water temperature is currently a cold, 51 degrees. Some streamer fishing happening on the river, but it definitely takes a bit to move the fish because of the cold water. Indicator and Euro nymphing are producing the best results for anglers. Hatches at this time include March browns, Blue Winged Olives, and light and dark small caddis. Dry fly favorites include EC Caddis, Parachute Adams, and Cripple March Browns. Nymph favorites include Caddis Larva Olive, Hares Ears, Black Copper Johns, and Small Pats Rubber Legs.
